Types of Facial Recognition Sensors

There are two primary sensor technologies for facial recognition:

  • 2D Camera Sensors
  • 3D Camera Sensors

2D Camera Sensors

3D Camera Sensors

3D camera sensors represent the next level of facial recognition, using depth-sensing technology such as infrared or structured light to create a three-dimensional map of the face. This allows for greater accuracy, even in low light or with varying angles, by capturing depth data alongside surface features.
